  1. Being a Skyblues exile living in Hebden Bridge , Yorkshire can’t wait to take the wife to see the boys at Port Vale. Great listen boys, so nice to hear so much positivity about The City. Cheers Stuart.

  2. Thanks guys – really interesting and informative podcast. As an exiled Sky Blue I find myself disgusted bt the off-field shennanagins but really excited about our on-field performance. What a blinding start to the season! I am worried about conceding four twice and three once – we are clearly great going forward, lets just tighten up a little at the back!
Loved the discussion about Mr Pressley. Love it that he is seen as a bit of a maverick. Could he be the new Brian Clough?

  3. Thanks for the mention chaps, its always an enjoyable podcast. It makes the commute on the Beijing subway a little more bearable and helps me to keep up to date with club affairs.

Another week, another win… Out of the relegation zone and looking up rather than down. I don’t know what Pressley is up to but I’m still struggling to comprehend that hes getting these performances from the squad that we have.

Are we over achieving, or are we now seeing the best in our players that perhaps previous managers (and I include Robins) haven’t been able to?

With every week that goes by, I am becoming more and more of a Pressley fan. As you eluded to in the podcast, I wasn’t calling for his head when he was appointed, but I was definitely a skeptic.
As controversial as it may be, I think some credit needs to be given to Steve Waggott for seeing the potential in Pressley before he arrived, and loosening the purse strings to bring him in. There were cheaper, easier and non-cardigan wearing options out there at the time, (Ince, Curle, Brown to name a few) but I doubt there’s many skeptics left who are yet to jump on the bandwagon.

A couple of my Chinese friends even sent me text messages on Monday morning congratulating Coventry, so our progress is beginning to get noticed. Given everything going on off the field, things are weirdly positive at the moment. Long may it continue.

In another related Podcast item, I was at Southampton University with Joe Cole’s brother, Nicky.

If we beat Port Vale on Saturday I’m off to buy a cardigan. PUSB.
